Slave triangle

Explain the use of Spirituals and what they were:

Explain who Harriet Tubman and what the Underground Railroad was:

Harriet Tubman is a woman who lived through the ERA when slavery was a thing. She worked in an underground railroads that stretched out through america. She helped get over three hundred slaves freedom in america when slavery was around.

Write about a spiritual you chose and highlight some lyrics and the hidden messages behind them:

Chorus: Wade in the Water, wade in the water children.

Wade in the Water. God’s gonna trouble the water.
Who are those children all dressed in Red?
God’s gonna trouble the water.
Must be the ones that Moses led.
God’s gonna trouble the water.

Chorus

Who are those children all dressed in White?
God’s gonna trouble the water.
Must be the ones of the Israelites.
God’s gonna trouble the water.

Chorus

Who are those children all dressed in Blue?
God’s gonna trouble the water.
Must be the ones that made it through.
God’s gonna trouble the water.

Chorus

This lyric is telling me about how hard it was being a slave and that it was not a good thing the slaves had to sing to collaborate against each other and so the masters would not know what they were saying.

How are these events still significant:
The slaves were used too
  1. Uplift slaves

  2. Give them hope

  3. Church, funerals and if allowed weddings

  4. And to relay secret messages to help them escape. Like Wade in the water

Model Atom

Aim - To make a model atom

___________________________________________________________________

Method

1. Choose an atom to make (one between Hydrogen and Neon.

2. Work out how many protons, neutrons and electrons it has.

3. Assign protons and neutrons to a particular colour bread.

4. Get a ball of blue tac and stick the protons and neutrons to this to make your nucleus.

5. Cut out the appropriate electron shells and draw on the electrons with vivid.

6. Connect nucleus and electron shells with a piece of string.

7. Create a label to go above the model so people know what you have created.

Discussion

- Atomic and mass number - Atomic number - 3 -  Mass number - 7

- Number of protons, electrons and neutrons - Protons - 3, Electrons - 3 - Neutrons - 4

- Electron arrangement - Two dots can be on the first ring and upto eight can be on the outer ring

- 2 interesting facts -

1.When putting the dots on the shells of the atom you go up by 1 dot at a time

2. Everything are made of atoms even people

Conclusion - Did it work - It worked but when I went to go get it, it had fallen too pieces

- Would you do anything different - I would try make my circles a bit bigger

3 2 1 - R I Q - English 2021

3 2 1 R I Q, is a new way of how our class has been learning about reflect. We are using this technique to practise on reflecting on our work. This is a cool way to practise about reflection because I've never heard of 3 2 1 R I Q, until we started learning about how to reflect on out work.

3 - Recall

2 - Insight

1 - Question

Recall -

Recall is you have to write down 3 things on what you remember about the previous lesson you have just completed, we have been doing this to make us remember what we have completed

Insight -

Insights is when you have to write down 2 things what you have learned in the previous lesson or the lesson you have completed recently.

Question -

For the question part all you need to do is ask one question about something you didn't understand or you still want to know about
