Santa Story

For the past few days in writing we had to use a dice and what number you got you had to write about like I got three which is Santa, On the rooftop, Rangi, Christmas Eve then you had to write about what you rolled.

¨Ho Ho Noooo!¨

Santa was getting ready to deliver all the presents in the whole wide world then suddenly...¨Ho Ho Noooooooo!! I can find my lucky belt¨ said Santa. Santa was so upset then he went to go tell the raindeers his bad news he suddenly saw one of the raindeers were missing Ahhh! Where is Rudolf.

He looked over and over the world then he then he saw that he couldn't find Rudolf or his belt so he stopped and said if my Rudolf is gone and my lucky belt is gone then where are they? Ask Santa to the elf's umm umm went on the elf's then Santa said why do you keep saying umm look on the roof top…

¨Ahahahaha¨ went Santa look said Santa to the elf's ¨he is up on the rooftop with my belt on¨ said Santa ¨Rudolf what were you thinking I was worried sick¨ ¨anyway we still got 9 hours to get all these presents around the world to all the good children¨.

So off they went then suddenly… a present dropped “ahhh” Rangis present swishh went the wind on Santa's face swishh swishh swishh “Im not letting his present go to waste” after all the work you elf's did “it doesn't matter” went one of the elf's what matters is at least he gets a Christmas.

Then they flu down on the slay and got Rangis present and got there just in time until they woke up.

Then in the morning Rangi and his parents woke up and went down stairs to find the cookies and milk were gone Hooray went Rangi “Horay Horay Horay”

Christmas Traditions

We have been learning about Christmas traditions. around the world today I learned more ways how to say merry Christmas in Maori this is how you say it Koa Kirihimete in France kids leave their shoes outside and Santa comes and puts presents in there. Today we learnt what all traditions eat. what do you in your tradition french say Joyeux Noel,Mexico say - Feltz Navidad and Swedish says God Yul in Italy on Christmas the people from Italy drink and eat very little bits on Christmas 

Lighthouse

Today in reading today I learnt more about lighthouses like they have beacons and you need light to make boats turn away from shore and lure them away so they don't crash so if the lights ran out people should go up to the lighthouse with their lights to make the big boat turn always the big boat would have crashed and sink and it would be a total disaster and heart breaking for people

Today 28th November Tuesday

Today in reading we read the story in our books then we saw what they looked like then we had to carry on with today's work and yesterdays work together 

so this is a little bit of the story 

Hinemoa was a young woman who lived with her family 
at Owhata, on the shores of lake Rotaroa. All the young men in the area had heard about her beauty and wanted to meet her. 

One of these men was Tutanekai a brave warrior who lived on Mokoia Island with his family came to a Hui. When Tutanekai saw Hinemoa for the first time he fell in love with her. Hinemoa saw Tutanekai and she fell in love with him, as well.

Today in reading We heard about Romeo and Juliet they were in love without there parents knowing they got married without anyone knowing it is a love story. it is an old story It has a happy ending but sad at the same time it has a little bit of a Trogic ending.

Alarm Call

Alarm Call !!

A horrifying yucky green looking troll came along stomping through the night.

It was Christmas morning 3:54 am,  and he saw a fantastic snow looking white furred kitten asleep on a cushion.  The kitten had been playing with his yarn and ball so he was tired and had fallen asleep Zzz!!!!!

The Green yucky troll pulled one leg up and stood on the ball and yarn that made a noise then the kitten woke up and “Meowww!!!” MEOW!! MEOW!! MEOW!!  

“AHHHHHHH!!!” Went the troll

Then the troll ran down the hall and stole the Christmas presents and suddenly… disappeared  the cat was like “umm" was that real?” Then it went completely silent.Then all you could hear was hoot hoot from owls.

  

Today in power time we got tort how to do new things on google sheets. So then we could have searched a minecraft person to copy and make it and that is what I did so It took me about 40 minutes to do

Kapa haka 2017

Te Manu Tukutuku Poem

Te Manu Tukutuku Poem

I feel excited because I can see new things that I have never seen before and they look new and pure.

I hear noisy kids chatting to each other while they are playing and running.

I see new furniture in my syndicate that looks better than at the old South Hornby School.

I touched the beautiful cafe chairs and they were ridiculously  softer than a bambillo pillow

I feel surprised because of everything that the teachers and builders did for us to make our new school.

I can hear bold beautiful loud kids.

This three days at the new school has been a blast and for the past two days we have been writing a poem about the new Te Manu Tukutuku. About what it smells like, feels like, sight, sounds like and feels inside you. I really like the details of what they did with the furniture and the classrooms there are you room 6, 7 or 8 because we are one big syndicate 

Today in literacy we went on a trip to rotorua and to taupo for the first question we had to write 3 things how to keep our neighborhood beautiful instead of three I did 7 because I want

to get full marks. For the second activity you had to take a photo of you relaxed well doing work and Describe what you like to do when you relax. For the bonus activity you had to write what you have learnt this week and last week.

Day#6 Native Aotearoa

Today for the first activity was write how you would feel if you were the first person to set foot in new Zealand for the second activity we had to write about what we would like to go to like the Matariki Festival and other things for the Bonus question... we had to write about hakas 
there is a two day Kapa Haka competition. The haka is a traditional war dance that Maori performed before going into battle.

Day#5 One step at a time

Today in writing we have been looking at some sites and the first activity was to write a (10 - 8) sentence store what could happen if you got lost without your group second activity was write about a famous person I picked Joseph Parker because hes my famous boxer the bonus activity was about write your feelings about would you want to go to otago central rail trail I said yes because I want to explore more places in the world

Day 4 on the road to nelson to help beached whales

Our fourth day on the road in the traveling attitude still in our New Zealand road trip this time we went to Nelson to help beached whales so first we put towels on the whales then we put water on them we first watched a video how to explain why we should ban fishermen from fishing at farewell split. For the first activity we had to write some reasons on how locals helped beached whales to live. Then we had activity two that dint work as we couldn't watch the videos. The bonus activity was about should we band fishermen from fish and killing the dolphins

Today in literacy we watched and read some stuff and we had to pick one animal that we had to write about and put facts about that animal I choose the yellow eyed bird because its really colorful.

Weekly Work: Day Two

This week in literacy we have been learning more about other places around Christchurch and New Zealand. So first we look at some ideas of Islington bay then I had listens to the words with read write it app then I put some of the ideas down in my own words.Then I looked at another sit about the best place to go would be Karekare beach in Auckland Then I listend to that to then did the same like I did with Islington bay write it down in my own words.Then I watched a video about a girl named Laura that had made it around the hole world on a boat and that really inspired me because it gave me ideas and questions to ask her.Then there came the bonus question you had to get a buddy to ask them questions what they like to do outdoors or indoors.

Activity: 1

Islington Bay a popular place for private boats in Rangitoto. Private boats may use the wharves for loading and unloading passengers only. Wharves means a structure built on the shore by water.

The best place to go would be Karekare beach in Auckland because you can chill there if it is hot. Also if you want to take a walk there you could go for a walk with your mates and family or have a swim in the waterfall you can surf and catch fish when you're at the beach.

Karekare beach is located on Auckland's west coast between Piha in the north and Whatipu in the south.

You can visit New Zealand's largest known living Kauri tree you can have a tour around the tree and there are easy walks and suitable buggies for kids to ride there.

For calendar art we got to pick out of Karo, City Scape  and Hearts. 

I had choose Koru because you can put the Koru on any side and also you can have lots of detail or just a little detail.

Today in reading and writing we were learning about how to write short and complex sentences. This is my one 

Once upon a time there was a tiny village but one day they heard SWOOSH!!! Suddenly... everyone looks up and there minds were blown everyone started running saying ¨RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!! AAAAA¨ Giants with big Suckers that were sucking up all the people.

They all ran into the palest and were begging not to get sucked up they were wearing suits with gas masks on with lights next to their eyes SHIP PP!!!! Goes the suckers then people were gone and it was quite.

They were poor and all the poor people were getting sucked up it was really sad because the poor people had no food or money 10 of them survived.

On Thursday We had our kapa haka performance and I lead Rakihatu the haka and my cousin and her friends lead Na iwi a then once we got changed broad field school put on some food and It was delicious.I was nervous then but when I started the haka with my cousin "BOOM" I loved it hope you like the video   

solving Addition problems by changing 1 number into a tidy number

In maths I have been learning to solve addition problems by changing 1 number into a tidy number. I worked with my teacher in my group solving problems I watched a video about the strategy I worked by myself practicing the strategy So for example If I had 156 +156 I would do 150 + 150 = 300 then 6 + 6 = 12 so 300 + 12 = 312 so hope u enjoy this video

Don't subtract add

In maths we are learning to make subtraction questions more easier by changing them into adding questions. So for example if I had 92-48 I would change it into 48+ __ = 92. This is my DLO on don't subtract add. Hope u like it 

My Holiday

In writing we are learning to elaborate on our ideas and use a hook at the start of our writing. We wrote a recount about our holidays. My hook is Whooo weee this is tiring I have elaborated on how I felt when I was there I used WOW!!! words to elaborate on ideas.

Scooter brad- He is a really good at scootering The tricks that he can do he can do a flare a flare is like a 180 backflip he can do Tailwhips,tailwhips are when you're on a scooter and you spin the deck sideways and Jump back onto it that is a tailwhip he can do a quadruple tailwhip

Hook- Whooo weee this is tiring And I could hear a lot of scooters and skateboards going SWOOSH! on the ground. In the school holidays on Saturday I went to Washington Skatepark. I went with Me, My brother, My sisters and mum and dad because it was supposed to be a fun  day out

I did a kickless but just failed I felt really close to getting the kickless and I saw a lot of people there because it was a very sunny day. I really wanted to try a hard trick but I did not want to hurt myself.

The way I felt was like I’m never giving up I’ve made it so close not the time to back down know. Because I've made it so close in my head I said to myself never give up you can do this. Like what teachers say at school never give up believe in yourself Persist. I got Kfc for lunch

I went there for a fun time out with the family I loved it is was so fun that I did not want to go

then once we were finished it was 3:55. So then once we got home I was really tired because of how much work I tried to do at Washington it was a really fun day. I really liked how we tried and tried till we got it I want to go back one day

It was the best day because I was so close to landing a lot of tricks.

I am learning to solve multiplication questions using a little bit more a 
little bit less.

In maths I have been  learning multiplication strategies.I have learn't to 
solve multiplication problems using my 5 times tables. So like 9 x 9 = 81
but it would be 9 x 5 = 45 so 9 x 3 = 27  45+27=72+9=81

Rotation Symmetry

So the past two weeks we have been doing rotation symmetry

we got to pick what design we wanted and I picked fidget spinners. Cause I know that fidget spinners hand three lines of symmetry so I created fidget spinners and then I got photos then went around the ends and put the bearings and caps on.My colored ones are gold,Wooden and silver.

I think Tornadoes are Not safe. because they can kill or even hurt people. They pick up nearly everything that it goes by but they are really strong winds from storms.

Rainy day

We have been doing art of a rainy day. So first we used white crayon to draw the rain and the line and I used Green,Red,Purple,Yellow and Blue for the rainbow. I used blue dye to paint over the crayons and this is what it turned out like.

How Animals Survive in Antarctica

WALT describe how animals adapt to the living in Antarctica.

So first In literacy we read about animals then I started with an Emperor Penguin and made notes about the animal.

Then I made a new slide and changed the background color to one that looks like Antarctica. I added my text and made my notes make sense. I put what I had read into my own words and added to it what I learnt at the Antarctic center.

This is my Penguin Art this took me 3 days to complete.So first I sketched the penguin then I painted the lines black then the next day I painted the penguins body orange and yellow then blended it in with white paint the the last step I did was painted the eye green.

We went to the Antarctic Center and we went into the ice room ¨WOW¨ was it cool and FREEZING!!!!!!!. 

When we got back we wrote a description about Antarctica. Here is my writing.

Antarctica is twice the size of Australia and is 25% bigger than Europe. The coldest temperature in Antarctica was -89.6 Celsius. Antarctica is surrounded by water and sits at the bottom of the globe. In Antarctica in

winter is dark for 24 hours a day and in summer it goes light for 24 hours a day.Antarctica is the coldest place all over the world like the antarctic Most of it is all white and Surrounded by water

BRRRRRRR!!!!,Freezing!!!!!,I'm gonna freeze!!!!!,Shivering!! Antarctica is the COLDEST desert in the world!!!!!!! Even though it is really cold I would still love to visit there one day.
