Science Road Show

Science Road show

Today the 28/11/2018 in period 1 and 2 we went to a science road show. We learnt some very cool experiments one was this blue water looking stuff then they put backing soda in it then samantha recorded the heat it got up to 23 degrees Celsius then...  7al and 7tz were aloud to explore the places and there was one thing were it mashes two peoples faces up through a glass plank we tearned on a light then it mashed our face up.

After that we then went through different rooms and they showed us these other little projects another one had an illusional certin that you sat in this chair and you put your foot on a pedal. Then the certin spins around quite fast then we hopped out and then stared to feel tired me and Tj then ounces we got to gether we did...

We did a play with Malakiah in it he was a cave man that had to answer some questions he had two trays of food one had a skull head with a termit through its eye. Then he had to answer what was more undangerouse to walk past a lion or a lake with crockerdials in it he picked for the food was...

He picked the one with berrys and stuff and for the wild animals he picked the lion because when it's a sleep he can walk past it. But a crockerdial will eat you for breakfast for lunch tea
Then he had to pick the best friend for life there was a guy with a gorilla mask on with both his hands on Malakiahs hands then he picked the right one and he took off his blind fold and said "I'm not looking behind me" then Malakiah tearned around and Seen a gorilla and said
" Hhh AAAAAAAAAAAA" it was so funny.

Thanks for reading my story about the science road show

Silent Film

A silent film is a film with no synchronized recorded sounds and in particular, no spoken dialog. In silent films for entertainment, dialogue is conveyed by the use of muted gestures and Mine in conjunction with title cards, written indications of the plot and key dialogue lines. The idea of combining motion pictures with recorded sound is nearly as old as film itself,

The acting style has a big movement, strong facial emotions and exaggerated gestures

This is the video we watched today...

Lino Cutting

In Art we have been learning how to lino cut. I have been using the cutting tools but I cut myself last week because it is so hard to control. I Kind of like lino cutting because it gives you a lot to do plus it is really fun.

1. Describe your work. Create 3 sentence to answer the following: what is it
a picture of, what shapes have you used, what was your inspiration

2. Did you have any trouble creating this piece? if so what happened? (2 Sentences).

3. Does your work have any meaning? Are you trying to give the viewer a message?
    (1 or 2 Sentences)

4. what are you enjoying about creating this piece? what could you do better? (2 Sentences).

5. What have you learned? (1 Sentences)

Answers-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. For the first step I had to draw the Nike tick then the next step I put it on another page
then I put my name on top of it then I Put it on the lino sheet then I had to carve the lino off      around the Nike tick and my name

2. I did have trouble at first because I cut myself on my finger. Then I had trouble because It        hurt my finger because it was bleeding and I put on a plaster. I got over it now so now I            can do the lino cut perfectly without cutting myself.

3. My work has a meaning because I like the Nike tick. I like my name on the Nike tick                  because of the N because it has a lot of style.

4. I am enjoying the fact that I get to create my favorite logo with my name on it . I like that I          can just let all my ideas out onto one logo.

5. I have learned how to lino cut and how to transfer it on a paper to a lino sheet

Science Badges

In Science we have been looking at science badges I have been looking at Sports Science

Sports science also sports and exercise science, sports medicine or exercise physiology is a discipline that studies how the healthy human body works during exercise, and how sport and physical activity promote health and performance from cellular to whole body perspectives.
For example what is the aim of sports the, aim of sports is to have fun and have a good time sometimes people have ups and downs in sport like in league man the warriors are doing well as and yea like that.
I picked sports science because I love sports and because it gets me fit and more better at league then more stuff i'm way better at fortnite but yea that is why I picked sport science because it is my favourite thing to do in my free time.

Water Rocket

Answer these questions about your experiment:
  1. What is the best number of fins?
   Answer:5

  1. What happens to the water rocket if you do not have fins?
   Answer: It will not Fly
  1. What is the best nose shape?
   Answer: Circle/Triangle
  1. What happens if you have a flat nose shape?
   Answer: it won't go high

  1. Does ballast at the nose make any difference?
    Answer: I think it does

  1. What is the right amount of water?
    Answer: 1/3 of a 2 litre bottle

  1. Explain what happens if you have too much water?
Answer: It won't go as far as it would if it had less water

  1. What is pushing the rocket to make it go faster?
S       Answer: The air coming from the bike pump or pumper

  1. Name the 4 forces that effect the water rockets flight?
A       Answer: The Air, The water, the bottom, The mount of water there is in it

  1. What keeps the rocket moving once the water has all come out?
A        Answer: The air that pushes it up towards the sky

1.If you were to make a water rocket again what changes would you make?
Answer: To try make a better water rocket

Water Rocket

Use the  Water rockets booklet. The booklet will have the

answers for many of your questions.

Aerodynamics

Aim: To investigate the best design features for your water rocket.

Read page 20 of the booklet.

Section 1: What is a water Rocket
Its Simple, a water rocket is basically an upside down fizzy drink, Bottle which has had a 'Nose' cone and some fins added.

The nose cone
The job of the nose cone is to make the rather snub-nosed end of the fizzy drink bottle more aerodynamic also if you have 'payload' on your rocket or a parachute mechanism this is probably where it will be placed.

the Fins
Others might disagree but i think the fins are the parts of a rocket that really give a rocket its character technically, the fins are important for ensuring that the rocket flies smoothly

Once we have added the fins and the nose cone, we have something which looks like a rocket. But how do we make it go like a rocket?

First we need to add some water, and some kind of release mechanism, that will keep the water in the bottle, until we choose to release it. The water will then leave the bottle through its nozzle.

Typically the bottle will be between about one quarter and one third filled with water.

Launch
To launch the water rocket, we need to pump air into the rocket: this provides the energy for the launch. As the air enters, it bubbles up through the water and pressurises the ‘empty’ space above the water. You can see that the release mechanism has to be really quite clever, allowing air into the rocket, while not allowing the water to escape until we activate a trigger.

Flight - Aerodynamics

Aim: To look at the 4 main forces of flying and how these can be overcome.

Hypothesis: I think that.......

Method: Working in pairs you are going to make a paper wing and experiment with it.
  1. Make a paper wing out of A4 paper
  2. On the field you will need to record and observe how 5 different changes affect the way it flies.

Plane type
How does it behave?
Time ( secs)
Paper sheet, drop

Paper with fold down middle, drop

Paper with fold and 1 paper clip, drop

Fold, 2 clips, rudder, drop

Fold, 2 clips, rudder throw

Electrical Engineer

Image result for Electrical Engineer
Electrical engineers work in a very wide range of industries and the skills required are like wise variable. These range from basic circuit theory to the management skills required of a project manager. The tools and equipment that an individual engineer may need are similarly variable, ranging from a simple voltmeter to a top end on the analyzer.
